Setting up your company profile with Finn

Modified on Sat, 8 Aug at 8:56 PM

When your company account is created, Finn walks you through a short setup conversation. It takes a few minutes, and it is a required first step — you will complete it before the rest of the platform opens up. Everything you enter can be changed later, and it ends with your first brief already drafted for you.

What Finn will ask

1. What your brand is, and your website

A few sentences telling Creators what you sell and who it is for — this appears in every brief Creators see. A category word on its own (“skincare”) is not enough; if you get stuck, Finn will draft one from what you have said and let you edit it.

A website link is required, but any link works — Instagram, TikTok, or Facebook is fine if you do not have a site.

2. Your logo

Upload any version — a screenshot of your profile picture works. Finn crops it to a circle and shows you a preview to approve. If the crop is not quite right you can upload a different image, or keep it and fine-tune the circular placement later in Settings.

3. Your ideal Creator

Describe the traits you look for — niche, audience, content style, values. You can also paste links or handles of Creators you like, and Finn saves both. If you are not sure who you want, say so and Finn will build a persona with you instead.

This is what your Creator recommendations and your first brief’s targeting are built from.

4. Your content non-negotiables

These are the rules every Creator must follow, and they are what AI Asset Analysis checks each uploaded asset against. Finn suggests four to start:

  1. Only feature your logos in the content — including clothing, props, background products, and packaging.
  2. Shoot in bright, natural light.
  3. Product clearly visible and in focus, with the logo shown in the first 5 seconds.
  4. Clean, uncluttered background.

Keep them, edit them, or add your own. Write them as things that can be seen or heard in a single asset. “Do not wear a red shirt” works. “Music must be royalty free”, “Include a photo and a video”, or anything about the caption does not — the check runs on each asset’s visuals and audio, not on the post or the deliverable list. Finn will suggest a workable alternative if you enter one it cannot check.

You can update these any time in Company Preferences.

5. Your integrations

Finn asks whether you sell through Shopify, and whether you use Yotpo, Bazaarvoice, or PowerReviews for reviews.

Important: answering yes here switches the integration on for your account — it does not connect it. You finish the actual connection in Profile > Settings > Integrations. The one exception is Shopify: if you say you want to connect right away, Finn sends you to install the Cohley app on your store, and you come straight back to the conversation afterwards.

You can enable one reviews platform during setup. If you use more than one, pick where to start and we will help you set up the others later.

6. Your first brief

Finn asks what you want the brief to achieve and which product to feature, shows you the brief types your account can launch, and recommends the best fit. Once you pick a type, Finn proposes your dates — apply by, accept on, content due, post due — and creates the brief for you in draft.

If Shopify is connected, Finn also pulls in the most relevant products, sets up Creator targeting from your ideal-Creator description, and adds a couple of screening questions.

Finishing up

Finn shows you a summary of everything — description, website, logo, ideal Creator, non-negotiables, integrations, and your new brief — and asks you to confirm before saving. Once you say yes, your profile is saved and you are taken straight to your draft brief to keep working on it.

Can I skip setup and come back to it?

No — setup is required, and you will land back in it each time you log in until it is finished. It only takes a few minutes, none of your answers are locked in afterwards, and you come out of it with a brief already drafted rather than a blank page.

Questions during setup

Finn will answer questions about the step you are on. For anything broader about how Cohley works, Finn will ask to come back to it once your profile is set up — setup comes first, and then the full platform is open to you.

Changing your answers later

Nothing here is locked in.

  • Brand description, website, logo — Company Settings > Company Details
  • Ideal Creator, content non-negotiables — Company Settings > Company Preferences
  • Integrations — Company Settings > Integrations
  • Your first brief — it is a draft; edit it in the brief wizard before you launch
