Yes — your brief saves automatically as you work, so you do not need to hit save before moving between steps.
The one thing to watch is the saving indicator in the top left. If it shows a save in progress, wait for it to finish before you navigate away or close the tab. Leaving mid-save is the one way to lose the last thing you typed.
If you are not sure whether something saved, reopen the brief — what you see is what is stored.
