How should I set up my Cohley Brief?

What is a Cohley Brief?
Cohley Briefs are built to generate high-performing content to support a strategic content activation. They're flexible by design, but a well-structured brief helps set your campaign (and your Creators) up for success.

Think of a Brief like a job description. It should clearly state everything relevant to the job, including deliverables, creative direction and expectations, compensation, timelines and non-negotiables.

How should I think about building a brief?
Start with the end use in mind. Are you looking for content for your TikTok page? Instagram ads? Each Brief should have a specific goal and primary activation that the content will support.

How do I make sure I'm getting diverse content in each Brief?
On UGC and Influencer briefs you can add multiple concepts—each with its own title and creative direction—so one brief can cover several angles. You decide whether each creator completes every concept or chooses one when they apply. You can also provide thought starters and ask creators to pitch their ideas, or give them full creative freedom. There's no fixed cap on concepts, but keep the number manageable so your content stays easy to review.

How many Creators Can I work with?
Most brands work with 10–15 creators per brief, but choose a number that fits your bandwidth and budget.

How many products can I include in a Brief?
We recommend that you limit products to 5 products to keep the focus tight.

Are there other limitations I should keep in mind?

  • Each of the Creators will have the same deadlines within the Brief, are accepted in one cohort

  • Briefs can run up to 10 weeks (though most brands wrap Briefs within 4)

  • We recommend not asking each individual Creator for more than 2 videos

  • Need both an edited and a raw cut? Set the video deliverable’s Video version to "Final edit & Raw (2 versions)"—no need to spell it out in text
