If the music in a Creator's video isn't right — it couldn't be verified as royalty free, there's no music at all, or you simply want a different track — you can ask for a change from the asset itself.
How to send one
- Open the video and click into the Full Asset View.
- In the Content Review panel, go to the Asset Compliance tab.
- Type what you want in the Request music change… field on the AudioVerify card and hit send.
The field is open text, so say what you're after — for example "Please choose royalty free music from Slipstream", "this needs a calmer track", or "please add a soundtrack".
You can send one on any status
A music change request isn't limited to assets that came back Copyright Risk. Send one on a Copyright Free asset if the track just isn't right for the campaign, or on a No Music Identified asset if you wanted a soundtrack and didn't get one. Wait until the result is in, though — while it's still Pending, you don't yet know whether there's anything to change.
What happens after you send
The AudioVerify card switches to Sent to Creator and the request field is replaced by a View Change Request button. Your Change Requests tab count goes up by one, with a blue dot marking the new request until you open the tab.
Music requests sit under Change Requests with the rest of your feedback on that asset, labelled so they're easy to tell apart from your asset change requests.
The Creator is notified the same way as any other change request — in chat, by the notification bell, and by email. If you send an asset change request and a music change request on the same asset, they may reach the Creator at slightly different times.
One music change request per asset
Asset change requests can be pinned to a specific timestamp; music requests can't, because music applies to the whole video. There's a single music change request per asset, so say everything you need in the one request.
What the Creator does next
Your request lands with the Creator alongside a Find music with Finn button. One tap starts a conversation with Finn, Cohley's AI agent, which recommends tracks matched to the concept and tone of your brief and hands over a download link for the one they pick.
That's the reason a music change request is low-friction to send: the Creator isn't sent off to hunt for a track and guess at what's cleared — the compliant option is one tap away, inside the brief they're already working in. They re-upload the video with the new audio, and AudioVerify runs again on the new version.
