Creator Vetting Best Practices

Modified on Thu, 21 Sep, 2023 at 5:43 PM

1. Custom Filters

Use the "Add Customer Filter" button to filter for the Creators you are looking for. You can explore the different filter options to see what makes the most sense for your brief.

2. Explore Creators

Visual Assets / UGC

Take a look at the Creators portfolio, application message, sample content (if any was requested), etc. Is their application message personalized? Does the content in their portfolio and/or sample content match the look & feel you are hoping for?

Influencer

Take a look at the Creators Social Profile and Social Metrics. If the goal of the campaign is brand awareness, pay attention to the creator's follower count + engagement rate. The industry average is 2.45% so anything higher than that is great! We recommend working with a mix of small and larger influencers to increase reach + get the engagement of the smaller creators

Reviews

Take a look at the Creators application message to see if it's personalized and whether they are showing interest in trying the product(s). Pay attention to their message to get a sense of their writing style. Are they straight to the point or flowery and verbose?

Professional briefs:

Professional Creators are required to add a professional site to their profile and this is used for vetting their application with Cohley. Check it out to see their work and how they brand themselves by clicking the hyperlink icon on their creator card.

3. Mark As Maybe

When browsing Creators, use the "Maybe" toggle if you think you might want to work with them.

Later, you can go back into your "Add Custom Filter" button and filter for "Flagged As Maybe" under "Other".

4. Gather Additional Information

You might like to explore ratings from other brands by clicking the "Reviews" tab or check out more of their work on their social profiles by clicking the social icons on the top right of their Creator card.

Do you have all of the information you need to decide if you'd like to work with this Creator? If not, consider sending specific Creators a direct message to ask for more information OR use the "Mass Message" tool to communicate the same message / question to ALL applicants.

5. Accept Creators

Once you are confident you'd like to move forward with a Creator, click the "Accept" button to move them into the Accepted tab.
