Brief targeting allows brands to customize the brief application so that when it's time for vetting, you have the information you need.
Targeting has four basic options:
- Creator Criteria
- Brief Screening
- Creator Insights
- Sample content
When to use each one:
- Creator Criteria is for non-negotiables. Add age restrictions, gender, and country requirements and only those that meet the criteria based on their profile data will be able to apply. Additionally, Follower Count and Engagement rate are available in Influencer Partnership briefs. This data will be based on TikTok or Instagram authorized data. If your company has hard requirements, you can add them here, but remember that smaller Creators can produce outstanding visuals as well.
- Brief Screening is a gated question, but not required. Creators will see this question before they are able to apply to the brief. These should be things that are outside of the filters available to your for Creator vetting and could entail things like willingness to drive to a certain location, have a child with eczema, or dietary restrictions. Add a yes or no question and then choose the correct answer. While 94% of brand questions are framed where YES is the correct answer, throwing in NO as a right answer can help ensure Creators are a bit more trustworthy. A picture can also be requested alongside answering the question as a form of proof. (e.g. Do you have an updated kitchen? The corresponding photo should be of the updated kitchen.)
- Creator Insights can be used as a quick survey to learn more about each Creator. Questions can be structured as single selection, multiple selection, short answer, and opinion scale. All questions added are required to be answered by each applicant. It is recommended that you do not ask for data that is filterable on their profile, but instead ask questions that help remove bias. Example: 'Where do you shop frequently?' as opposed to 'Do you shop at Target?'. For additional guidance, check out our approach to asking questions.
- Sample content can be turned on in order to ensure each applicant uploads a photo or a video alongside their submission. This allows you to request additional content that is ideally tailored to the brief deliverables to view alongside the Creator's portfolio, Cohley Work, and external links.
With limited applicants and additional information, the goal is to reduce the time vetting and get you working with Creators quickly. Reach out with any questions or upvote any suggestions here.
