What happens if a Creator's PayPal payment is returned?

Modified on Thu, 16 Jul at 4:54 PM

Sometimes a payment you've sent is returned instead of reaching the Creator's PayPal account. This almost always means the Creator's PayPal email on Cohley is incorrect, or their PayPal account isn't verified.

What happens automatically

  • An automated message is posted in the brief chat letting you and the Creator know the payment was returned.
  • The funds are returned to Cohley, so nothing is lost — the payment is simply reversed and made available to send again.

Next steps

  1. Ask the Creator to confirm their PayPal email is correct on Cohley (and that their PayPal account is verified). They can update it from the brief: open the brief, find the PayPal email in the profile section, click the pencil edit icon, update and save. See Your PayPal account on Cohley.
  2. Resubmit the payment from the brief once the Creator has confirmed/corrected their email.
