How do brief deadlines work?

Every Cohley brief runs on a set of deadlines you choose when you build it. Here’s what each one means and exactly when it cuts off.

The deadlines on a brief

• Deadline for applications — the last day creators can apply to your brief.
• Accept applicants by — the date to review applicants and accept the creators you want. Creators see this as when they can expect you to ship any products.
• Receive content by — the date accepted creators submit content for your review (see what this means for your brief type below).
• Post date (Influencer Partnership only) — when the creator posts to their platform, after content review.
• Payment due date - automatically calculated as 30 days after the brief end date. View this as your deadline for paying Creators.

Does a deadline mean end of day?

Yes — a deadline date runs through the end of that day. Deadlines are currently measured in UTC (Coordinated Universal Time), so a deadline date ends at 11:59 PM UTC — which lands in the early evening US Eastern time (around 6–7 PM ET). To be safe, plan for actions to be completed earlier in the day rather than late in your own evening. 

What does “Receive content by” mean — first draft or final?

It depends on the brief type:

• UGC, Influencer, Voice of the Shopper, Product Review: a single content-delivery date — the creator submits content for your review. For UGC this is the final asset; for Influencer it’s the content you review before the creator posts.
• Professional (with the two-phase editing option): “Receive content by” is the first, unedited draft. The final edited content has its own separate, later deadline.
