Why Is My Brief Still Showing as Active?

Modified on Wed, 22 Jul at 1:19 PM

A brief won't close on its own until certain conditions are met — and those conditions vary by brief type. If your brief is still showing as active and you think it should be done, here's what to check.

UGC, Influencer, and Professional Briefs

These briefs require all accepted creators to reach the Completed stage before the brief will close.

Check the following:

  1. Go to your brief and review the Accepted, Content to Review, and Pending Post tabs.
  2. Make sure every creator has been moved to Completed -- you have reviewed their content and their post, as applicable.
  3. If the brief is a paid brief, all creators must also have received 100% of their agreed compensation before the brief can close.

What if a creator went quiet and never delivered?

If a creator ghosted and you're waiting on them to complete the brief, you can move them out of Accepted and back to Applicants. Once all accepted creators are in Completed (and fully paid, if applicable), the brief will move to completed.

Review Briefs

Review briefs close automatically — you don't need to manually complete them. A review brief will close when either of the following happens first:

  • All accepted creators have submitted their review, or
  • 30 days have passed since the content due date

Brief Never Got Off the Ground?

If no creators were accepted by the time your completion date arrived, the brief will automatically move to Past as an unused brief. No action needed on your end.

Can I reopen a brief that already moved to Completed?

Yes — a Completed brief returns to Active if you update the brief dates or accept a new creator.

For review briefs specifically: if a creator submitted their review but forgot to attach their images or video, they can no longer edit the submitted review — but they can still send the files to you in the brief chat, even while the brief is in Completed. You don’t need to move the brief back; review briefs auto-close 30 days after the content due date.
