Who can see my brief?

Your brief is only shown to Creators who match every filter you set and pass Cohley's platform-wide eligibility rules. Here's exactly what we check before a brief lands in a creator's feed.

First, brief type determines the creator pool

By design, each brief only reaches a subset of the Cohley creator network. The brief type you choose decides which creator population is eligible before any other filter runs:

  • Review briefs — reach the broadest pool. This includes Cohley's three types of Creators: Reviewers, Influencers, and Professionals
  • UGC briefs — reach Influencer and Professional creators
  • Product Only Influencer briefs (unpaid) — reach Influencer creators only
  • Paid Influencer briefs — reach Influencer and Professional creators
  • Professional briefs — reach Professional creators only (our specialist content pros)

Then, 7 checks below narrow that pool further.

1. Have you blocked the creator? Any creator on your block list is automatically hidden from your briefs.

2. Is it a public or a private brief? Public briefs are surfaced to any eligible creator. Private briefs are only visible to the creators you explicitly add to the visibility list.

3. Does the creator match your targeting criteria? We filter on every field you set in the brief, including country, state, age, gender, follower count, engagement rate, kids, and pets. If a required field doesn't match, the brief is hidden.

4. Did the creator pass your Gated Questions? If you added gated questions, only creators whose answers qualify will see the brief.

5. Has the creator opted out? Creators can mark a brief as "not interested." Once they do, it's removed from their view and they can't apply.

6. Has the creator already reviewed this SKU? To keep reviews authentic and avoid duplicates, creators who previously received and reviewed the same SKU are filtered out.

7. For Influencer briefs — is their Instagram, YouTube, or TikTok connected? Influencer briefs require the creator to authorize their social account before they can apply. Unauthorized creators can still see the brief, but are prompted to connect before they apply. NOTE: If you have follower or engagement targeting, unauthorized Creators will not see the brief.

Quick tips if your eligible pool feels small

  • Broaden targeting (wider age range, lower follower minimum, more states/countries)
  • Remove or soften Gated Questions
  • Switch from Private to Public visibility
